Dana Air is an airline based in Ikeja Nigeria and based on the international airport in Lagos Murtala Muhammed.
On June 3, 2012 a Dana Air McDonnell Douglas MD-83 operating as flight 992 crashed into a two-story building on railroad Iju, Ishaga, a suburb of Lagos. All 153 people on the aircraft were killed. After the accident, all Dana Air flights were suspended by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nigeria (NCAA) until further notice.
On 7 February 2018 a Dana Air flight landed in Abuja and was rolling on the track when one of the emergency exit doors fell off. No casualties as a result of the incident. Passengers said the door shook throughout the flight. An airline spokesman, however said that the door could not have fallen without conscious effort by a passenger. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nigeria instituted an investigation into the incident to determine what exactly happened.
On 20 February 2018 a Dana Air MD-83 with registration 5N-SRI skidded off the runway at the international airport of Port-Harcourt for a night landing. There were no casualties but the aircraft suffered significant damage. Both the airline and the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria stated that the cause of the accident was bad weather and there was torrential rain at the time of landing
